For volunteers
The questions every board asks, answered plainly.
If yours isn't here, ask us. We would rather tell you something isn't built yet than have you find out on registration night.
Cost and money
What does it cost our club?
Nothing to set up and nothing each month for registration, events, teams, uniforms, donations, waitlists, volunteer shifts, coach checks, treasurer reports and the family and coach app. The team store is free too. Families pay a fee of $3 + 3.5% per payment, shown as its own line at checkout, and that fee covers card processing. Marketing ($99 a month) and done-for-you setup ($499 once) are optional.
How do payouts work?
During setup you connect the club's bank account through Stripe. Family payments go to the club's own Stripe account and are paid out to that bank account. The money doesn't pass through us, and the club receives its full price on every payment.
How do refunds work?
You can refund a family from your admin pages. On an ordinary refund the family gets the registration price back and the family fee is kept. If the club cancels the season, the family gets everything back, including our fee; the club covers the card processing cost on those refunds, which Stripe does not return.
Can families pay over time, or get help paying?
Yes. You can offer two or three payments, 30 days apart, sibling discounts, and scholarships. Families ask for help paying in the registration form, and your board reviews each request.
Your club, your website, your families
Can we keep our website?
Yes. Bougie League gives you a hosted registration page with your logo and colors, a share link and a QR code, plus a button you can paste onto the website you already have. If you'd like a full new club website, that's an optional upgrade.
Do parents need an app?
No. Registration works in any phone or computer browser, and families don't need an account to register. The Bougie League app for iPhone and Android: coming soon to the App Store and Google Play. Until then, families and coaches add it to their phone's home screen from the browser, and they sign in with a link or an 8-digit code sent to their email. The app sends notifications for new messages, rosters, spots that open up, and shift and payment reminders.
What about uniforms?
Uniforms in checkout are built. Your club lists its items, sizes and prices, and families pick sizes and pay for them during registration. Clubs can supply their own uniforms, or have Bougie Print, our apparel company, supply them; Bougie Print uniform orders connect at launch. You can also leave uniforms off and keep doing them the way you do now.
What about a fan-gear store?
A free team store through Bougie Print is built, linked from your registration page. Fan-gear checkout stays on Bougie Print, and the store connects to Bougie Print at launch.
Who can see our families' information?
Your club's directors and board admins see the whole club. Each coach sees only their own team, with an emergency card: parents' phone numbers and emails, the emergency contact and the medical notes families share. Coaches can't download or export contacts, and payment details are never shown to coaches. Admins can download your club's records as CSV files.
Who owns the data?
Your club's records are kept for your club, and admins can download them at any time. Our club terms, which spell out data ownership, retention and deletion, are being finalized with counsel; we will share them before your club goes live.
Is there a person to talk to?
Yes. Bougie League is run by a family-run studio in Placerville, California. Every club is reviewed by a person before it goes live, and you can write to us any time.
